So what exactly is clean eating? And where do I start?
Okay, so quite simply, clean eating is a LIFESTYLE based on the goal to remove all processed foods from your diet. The lifestyle consists mostly of eating fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
Here is what you can eat and what you should try not to eat:
Allowed Not Allowed
Whole grain pasta and wheat White flour, rice sugar
Fresh vegetables and fruit Preservatives, alcohol, fast foods
Healthy fats and lean proteins Refined Products
Organic or grass fed products Processed Foods
Limited dairy products
This sounds like a lifestyle that I could follow. I do have some other diet restrictions which are gluten issues and some dairy issues. I have other foods that I am sensitive to as well but it seems do-able. At least on paper.
What I think would work is to break this down into reasonable changes over a 5 week period. Even if I have to take more than one week to make a change that is okay. This is not a diet but a lifestyle anyhow and I am not in a race.
I will be back tomorrow to set up my first week and what changes I will make.
